To celebrate me taking the day off, here are some memes brazenly stolen from The Daily Gondor on X, the voice proving that Middle Earth went through the same things we do. Enjoy.

Satire, and this is world class satire, is always based on reality.
It is becoming difficult to watch the movies now because sometimes all I can see are the memes.
Hey Lamont Cranston-
Regarding Alabama going purple, I refer to these two maps for the 2020 election….

…and the (Court-ordered) 2024 Congressional election…

The Democratic leanings of the so-called mid-State Black Belt and also Birmingham are obvious. But note also that Madison County and Huntsville along the Tennessee State line are pink, not ruby red. (For that matter, Mobile County and my beloved Dauphin Island in the southwest corner of the state is also pink.) Alabama as a whole may not be shifting to purple, but I maintain that Huntsville certainly is from what I see with my eyes, feel with my gut and most importantly by the election numbers.
Another way to look at this is to blink back and forth between the 2020 and 2024 Alabama presidential election maps. There was a definite statewide shift towards red and Trump in 2024 – even in the Black Belt counties. Not so in Madison County and Huntsville, though – our needle didn’t budge. I submit that our four years of out-of-state newcomer influx neutralized the red shift seen virtually everywhere else in the State. Ergo, Huntsville is moving purple.
