It’s not about how heavy a cow is, but the ratio of food: people fed. Energy is lost from the wheat when the cow transforms it into meat, so there is less calories available for human consumption. Which is accurate, but not relevant to my values. I don’t care about feeding the maximum number of people the world can hold, I care about eating and living well for myself and my people.
Also, there is a false equivalence because not all land that can feed cattle can also grow wheat, especially if you factor in unsustainable irrigation practices. A lot of land in the US is best used for grazing cattle, even if your (foolish) goal was to maximize the human population on the planet.
At least they didn’t include people.
