Trump’s First Semester Report Card, Plus A Bikini

“I don’t know if you’re familiar with who runs that business, but I assure you it’s not the Boy Scouts.” – Back to School

I watched a documentary on the bikini.  It was two parts and very revealing.

It’s been a semester that Trump has been back in office, so why not give him a report card?

The LULZ

The Don has proven to be a continual fountain of amusement.  He pokes the GloboLeft and they squeal, predictably, every single time.  If Don came out against the idea of rape, within a news cycle, AOC would have a statement out that would start with . . . “Well, not all rapists . . . . “

The initial salvo of Executive Orders kept the GloboLeft spinning on defense, no knowing what would happen next, and contorting themselves to oppose everything coming out.  But more about that before.  So, for pure amusement, Donald gets an A.

“Can you change my grade?”
“Of course,” Tom remarked.

Department of Justice

This grade would be an F, with the exception of the pardoning of January 6 protesters and the demotion of several highly political FBI agents and the firing of the attorneys who prosecuted January 6ers.  The late work that simply hasn’t been submitted includes the full, unredacted JFK files.  There have been some minor revelations in what has already been provided, but there is no reason sixty years out that we can’t be provided the full evidence, no matter where it points.

Other late work:  When Pam Bondi brought out the “Epstein Files” and they were just redacted versions that had less info than what I’d already seen?  Shameful.  And even if Jeff killed himself, the question of who he trafficked young women to remains.

What about the arrests of those who actually conspired against a sitting president?  Where are those?

As of this writing, Bondi, Patel, and Bongino appear to have become part of the problem, and not the solution.  Grade:  D-, improvement needed.

Remember when Putin said he had no plans to invade Ukraine?  I think that’s been proven to be true.  (meme as found)

Department of State

Little Marco appears to be The Don’s favorite – if there’s another job, he just gives it to Marco.  Although these cross several lines, I’m going to give Marco the credit for not getting us into a war with Iran.  Yet.

Is the war in the Ukraine over?  Nope.  It’s far easier to start a war than to end one.  And, as I write this, news has come in about a significant attack across Russian air bases damaging between eight (according to Russia) and eleventy-bazillion (according to Ukraine) large military airplanes.

Not starting a war (Iran) is far easier than ending one (the three-day 1195-day Special Military Operation in Ukraine).  Both are important.  We’ll see what happens, and don’t forget we have China circling Taiwan.

Grade:  C+

There are more gates to get into Sauron’s kingdom then there are to get into my house.  I guess you could say he has more doors.

Department of War

This job is a tough one.  The entire general officer corps and (my guess) half the junior officer corps are infested with committed GloboLeftist DEI-lovers and ladder climbers waiting for the cushy post DOD job with an arms manufacturer.  Stalin’s purges of the Red Army come to mind as a good model:  they have to be found and drummed out of the service.  Innocent people will be falsely accused.

So?

This hasn’t started yet, but Hegseth is notably more focused on creating a force that’s not a jobs program but one that has the mission of blowing stuff up and killing people, so that’s a plus.

Grade:  C+

After I lost my court case, my lawyer told me I was beautiful.  Okay, technically not beautiful, but he did say “You’re appealing.”

Judiciary

The fights with the existing judiciary have been titanic.  But, Trump has rolled back DEI, affirmative action, boys in girls’ sports, ejection of illegals, and managed to gut many .gov jobs.

There are 251 major cases involving the Trump administration in court right now.  This includes cases where there are dozens of lawsuits on things like birthright citizenship that are rolled into just one.  This doesn’t happen to other presidents – and I’m quite sure this is a record number.  Why?

You know why.  Obama could deport people, but since Orange Man Bad, well, Trump can’t.

It’s all so tiresome.

On to the Supreme Court, it would appear that this summer or the next summer would be a good time for some older justices to retire.

Grade:  Incomplete

Tariffs

The latest Trump meme has been one that will backfire on the GloboLeft:  TACO, or Trump Always Chickens Out.  The GloboLeft is probably not familiar with negotiations, where the biggest strength is being able to walk away.  Emotional manipulation is part and parcel to creating a deal, and it takes place on both sides.  To be clear, there are many things that Trump is bad at, but one he’s really, really good at:  making a deal.

Now me?  I love the idea that they’re telling Trump he’s going to chicken out.  This will stiffen his spine so he can do what needs to be done.  That’s why I expect this meme to be short-lived.

Returning manufacturing to the United States and removing the primacy of the Finance, Insurance, and Real Estate (FIRE) sectors as the drivers to our country in order to create real, not paper, wealth is key.  This one is still too early to call.  The Usual Suspects have got this tied in legal knots, too.

Grade:  Incomplete

To visit the wreck of the Titanic used to cost $250,000.  To join the wreck permanently?  Priceless.

Department of Aborting Illegal Immigration

Okay, I know it’s the Department of Homeland Security, but if the change the name and added abortion to it, I bet we could get 50% of the GloboLeft behind it.

Pluses:  the infestation of illegals has slowed to a trickle, if not reversed.  The numbers of deport is still horribly low since “due process” is now required once anyone has crossed the border.  The obvious solution is a set of machine gun nests up and down the border with every single crew-served machine gun in our inventory deployed and firing live rounds 10 yards out from the border line.

That counts as due process, right?

This is still better than it has been in decades.  Trump should also just start building the wall, and claim it helps Israel or Ukraine when asked.

And, Trump should also arrest every illegal that they find, and put them in a detention pen until their court date shows up.  The detention pen would be adjacent to the Mexican border, and anyone wanting to exit would be free to go into Mexico, via a one-way gate.

Grade:  B

Skeezy Factor

The jet from Qutar is a mistake, and giving a pardon to someone whose mom paid $1,000,000 to meet you is also a mistake.  That just looks skeezy.  But, the king and queen of skeeze, Jared and Ivanka, are nowhere to be seen, so that’s something.

Grade:  C-

My waterbed is really bouncy.  I used spring water.

Summary

To be fair, I’m not really sure who would be fully qualified to assess Mr. Trump.  He consistently makes decisions that are counter to popular wisdom, and skates away unscathed every time.  I recall reading Dune as a young teen.  Whenever Paul made a decision, I filtered it with, “What would I do?” and most of the time Paul chose the opposite of what I’d have done.

I guess that’s why he became Emperor while I spend time in the spice mines.

Trump is similar – he’s a singular person on a mission that even he might be unaware of – the near assassination of him in Pennsylvania showed he has what the Chinese call the Mandate of Heaven.  It’s hard to argue against that.

None of this, however, has been codified into law.  Even with the House and the Senate, Trump didn’t have all of the excesses of the GloboLeft defunded.  Could D.O.G.E. have made a difference?

A huge one.  But it appears that Fraud, Waste, and Abuse has much more support in Congress than fiscal responsibility.  The majority of Republicans in the House and Senate are creatures that want exactly what the GloboLeft wants, but want to complain about it.

So, Grabbin Nuisance could, on January 21, 2029, nullify every Trump Executive Order if elected.

Overall:  still the best president in decades.

  1. Trump should also get an F for Archery class, due to the fact that he repeatedly shoots himself in the foot. His constant desire to troll and insult people has really undercut his efforts and cost him a lot of supporters.

I think Dems actually agree with Trump on many of these issues, but they refuse to support him because he is constantly insulting them. So instead of bipartisan support, we get judicial lawfare at every turn.

    J-Bird

    1. Toughen up, buttercup.
      And bone up on Machiavelli:
It’s better for a prince to be feared than loved.

Trump grabbing the disloyal opposition by the pussy every chance he gets is a feature, not a bug.
Personally, I wish he’d not only do it more, but with both hands.
Pain is the quickest and most effective education stupid people receive.

      1. A “p#ssy grabbing” strategy may work for a prince in an autocracy, but it isn’t going to help much in a constitutional republic (or what’s left of one).

The whole point of checks and balances is to force everyone to work together. The judicial branch is now openly hostile to Trump and Congress isn’t supporting him either . If he can’t find a way to bridge that gap then he will never get any meaningful laws passed, and all of the EO’s will be cancelled by the next president.

This is just basic human nature. Someone may agree with you in principle, but they won’t support you if you constantly belittle/insult them. It’s TDS in a nutshell and the reason why Dems will dig their heels in on some of the most irrational issues. If Trump would show some basic diplomacy, back off on the trolling/insults, and offer an occasional olive branch, he would actually get a lot of these democrats to support him (or at least not go out of their way to openly resist him).

        1. No, the whole point of checks and balances isn’t “to force everyone to work together”. Punch your civics teacher in the throat, and demand a refund on your diploma.

The point of checks and balances is that nothing gets done except the things everyone agrees on.
Big difference. Everyone is free to be as partisan as they like. It paralyzes government from doing dipshit things, and only the issues the majority agrees on squeeze through the holes.

Government is always the problem, and the Founders knew that, which is why they made it hard to do anything. They did not do it to “force everyone to work together”. That misstatement of the design of this republic is nothing but communism in a nutshell. You should have seen that without being told. The Founders were fine with government sitting with its own thumb up its nethers, fat, dumb, and happy, and totally immobile. For the things that have to get done, there’s a chief executive. Trump is how that works when you don’t have a senile potted plant in that spot, backed by an autopen.

Trump kissing the lunatics’ asses isn’t going to accomplish anything but to embolden them. We tried doing it that way non-stop since Daddy Bush, and it got us nowhere, while the one-way Leftard cultural ratchet moved the entire country to the left for the last century and more, whether it wanted to go there or not.

Trump’s reflex rudeness to idiots and refusal to give a shit whether he’s loved or not, nor suffer fools, and insistence on being obeyed in areas where he has the right to make unilateral decisions is what’s stripped the notches off the Democommunist’s one-way ratchet, and now he’s breaking the handle off it too.

F**k Democrat support. Sideways, with a rusty chainsaw. Stop listening to the 48% of the country that’s demonstrably insane. Make them kiss Trump’s ass instead of doing it the other way around.
Playing nice gets you nothing but ridiculed and rolled. Don’t just note their insanity, point it out, laugh at it, and ridicule it. That ratchets the country back to sanity, and lets millions of people know they’re not alone.
And no one makes hamburger that’s half beef and half cow shit, unless they’re insane.
Crush your enemies, drive them before you, and revel in hearing the lamentations of their women.

Whenever possible, go outside the experience of the enemy.

Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.

A good tactic is one your people enjoy.

Maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. – Saul Alinsky, Rules For Radicals

Saul, you magnificent Commie bastard, I read your book!” – DJT, POTUS 45 & 47

Politics is the art of the possible.
Leadership is making the opposition play ball with you regardless, or they get the bat shoved up their @$$e$.
Trump is not a politician; he’s a leader.
He’s not too loud or obnoxious; people are just too wimpy, and unused to what leadership looks like when one shows up. This isn’t a kindergarten art class, and there won’t be any Marquess of Queensbury fake and ghey faggotry in the execution of the republic’s business. It’s only shocking to some folks because they’ve never seen it in their lifetime from our side of the aisle.

    2. On one hand, yes, but on the other hand, it allows him to illustrate truth other people have swept under the rug. He’s as subtle as a drunken uncle at Thanksgiving.

      1. The drunk uncle analogy is spot on. Had one of those growing up and I loved Thanksgiving just for the fireworks. My parents didn’t want to invite him because they knew they would have to clean up the mess afterwards.

If Trump is the drunk uncle, then Vance is the quiet but smart uncle that the family trusts to handle all of the family business. Even his enemies respect him because they know he is the smartest guy in the room. Vance should make a good president and will probably have better bipartisan support to get things done. .

        1. I don’t want bipartisan support.
          Nobody sane wants bipartisan support.

We want 70% of the country to vote for sanity, outright.
(30% of anyone is always going to be listening to “Coast To Coast” at 3AM, and wearing tinfoil millinery, and that cannot be helped, short of stocks, pillories, and public floggings.)

You don’t get to sanity by getting crazy people to support you.
You get to sanity by ignoring the crazy people.

“Bipartisan” is exactly that meatloaf that’s 50% cow meat, and 50% cow crap.
Failing to grasp that is exactly the problem with this country.
Let me know when the penny drops.

  2. The first couple of months versus the last couple of months are night and day. Trump was always going to be Trump, for good or ill, but he reverted to Zion Don faster than I expected. If anything Trump has gotten pretty quiet of late. It would be better if Trump could campaign for President in perpetuity and maybe leave Vance to actually be President.

    1. You have the Jew hating down pat, just like Oboma, AOC, Crockett, and just 2 billion muslims. Your in good company.

  3. We might as well face the fact that nothing about Epstein or JFK will be released. And Comey, et al, will not be prosecuted.

But think what would be what with Cackles in the Oval Orifice, oops, Office.

  4. In general, I agree with your grades.

There’s some other major things Trump has done that would boost his score if included.

He is standing up strongly against DEI and trans nonsense to try and get merit and biological reality back in vogue, and this is critical. Remember Voltaire’s quote, “Those who can make you believe absurdities can make you commit atrocities.” We have got to step back from that cliff.

His focus on fentanyl and drug cartels as a threat to Americans is spot on. We are currently losing more people to overdose deaths EACH YEAR than the ENTIRE KIA totals for Vietnam and Korea combined. Declaring the cartels as terrorist organizations was a key act by Trump. Killing them with our armed forces before they behead us with theirs is crucial, and Trump is willing to throw his MAGA hat in that ring.

Letting Europe know that NATO is not sacrosanct and could be ghosted by the US is perhaps Trump’s most important act so far. Since 1991, US neocons have blown an absolutely golden opportunity to foster world peace by running a slow-motion invasion of Russia via NATO expansion (and now with Ukraine, NATO support) instead of treating them like we did Japan and Germany after WW2. Now here we are, on the brink of a nuclear war – with the odds getting higher and higher the more of their nuclear strike force gets clobbered by drones. In nuclear brinksmanship somebody has got to back down to save the world – and for this role it’s looking like Trump is Obi Wan, our only hope.

But yeah, there’s counterbalancing negatives too. I want some follow-up public announcements on threads that came out during the Butler assassination attempt – like a cellphone number that supposedly pinged near Crooks’ home later pinging in a DC federal building. I want some call-outs and lawsuits against NIH and CDC officials that hid the truth on illegal gain-of-function research and eye-popping VAERS statistics. I wanna see Deep State Russiagate and laptop and sharp-as-a-tack liars in jail cells. They ain’t. Yeah, the Epstein list is important and needs to be out in the open, and also the truth on JFK – but nothing, absolutely nothing compares with transparency on first contact and alien biologics and functional extraterrestrial technology if USG actually has that in its possession. We are choking on secrets, and Trump is awfully slow on turning the key to open that lock.

Economics is another Trump weakness. His focus on tariffs distracts from his outright ignorance in other areas of the economy. He’s pushing crypto as much for his own immediate gain (TRUMPcoin) as for its potential societal benefits. The Fed is trapped, it’s doomsday inbound whether they ultimately raise or lower rates – but Trump is pushing for lower rates just because he likes the sound of “lower”. His big beautiful bill and his even higher inbound deficits are gonna be the straw that breaks the America’s back.

So, add in my mix too and you still get pretty much John’s original overall score. Disappointing progress from an administration with so much potential. But “Still the best President in decades”? Absolutely. As another Donald said, “You go to war with the army you have, not the army you might want or wish to have at a later time.”

    1. We are currently losing more people to overdose deaths EACH YEAR than the ENTIRE KIA totals for Vietnam and Korea combined.

Don’t get wrapped up in the numbers. This a quantity vs. quality object lesson.
When you look at who we’re losing, instead of how many, it’s a massive net plus for society, and civilization in general.
Which is the only sane argument for making drugs legal – for about six months. And banning Narcan for the same interval.
Thin the herd, then go back to the status quo ante, and the problem is gone for 100 years.
Draconian, callous – and absolutely essential.

    2. Above I mention drugs and NATO and secrets and the economy as key American problems – but those are all “external” problems. DEI/trans etc that I mention first is an internal problem that boils down to an insane worldview. We gotta solve this issue with the highest priority or we aren’t even Americans anymore. ZH ran an excellent article worth reading a few days ago pinpointing the root cause of this problem. We need a return to the so-called Scottish common sense realism that was the literal foundation upon which the United States was founded.

  5. Concur.

    TL;DR:
    Theory : A+++
    Execution: C-
Entertainment Value: Just like pushing Slinkies™ or annoying Karens down a flight of stairs, it’s always fun to watch, and highly recommended.

Still the most conservative-acting president since Calvin Coolidge. Period.

But he needs to load 4-5 SCOTUS justices, and his entire DoJ top-tier team, on a plane with a half-way ticket to Bermuda, and reboot what’s left until it starts draining the swamp.

Personally, I’d chain Pam Bondi by the ankles on a giant metal griddle on the White House lawn, make that her office, and instruct the Secret Service to start throwing one oak log on a bonfire under her every hour, until she either gets her ass in gear, or is extra crispy, whichever comes first. The pay-per-view revenue would pay for the Border Wall.

    Win-win.

      1. GIGO.
Start with lawyers, get a party-sub-sized sh*t sandwich.

Personally, I’d replace most of DoJ, and bring 20,000 Army warrant officers out of retirement and bring them back as helicopter pilots, and substitute Air Pinochet half-way tickets to Bermuda in place of indictments and trials that will never happen.

Then tell the crybabies that if history is offended by that, it can buy a case of Butthurt Cream.

Mainly because that’s where things are ultimately headed anyways, so why not skip the intermission, and get down to the rat killin’?

The Establishment wing of the Uniparty won’t tell you that. (The thought of it gives them the vapors, and they soil their panties.). I just did.
Trump was never our savior, he’s our weapon.
And he’s not the solution, he’s just a respite on the way to a solution.
He doesn’t represent the beginning of the end for the communists, just the end of the beginning.

  6. My policy on the Trump Administration is to wait and see, while paying attention to the people who have a track record of being right.

When WarClandestine, the guy who broke the Ukraine Biolabs scandal, says “Everyone has their preferred #1 priority for the Trump administration. For me, it’s justice for Covid, and so far, I’m loving what I’m seeing.” then I’m inclined to believe that he’s done his research and that steps are being taken.*

When Tom Luongo and EM Burlingame talk about how Trump is breaking the Financial Kill Chain that the globalist bankers are using to enslave and destroy nations, I listen.
    https://tomluongo.me/2025/05/01/podcast-episode-216-em-burlingame-and-how-to-kill-the-financial-kill-chain-of-europe/

We all want to see justice being done and it’s frustrating that blatant evil isn’t being swiftly punished, but that’s not reason to get discouraged. Trump is up against a bureaucracy of organized corruption going back at least 80 years and he’s trying to work within the system without breaking it.

It is right and proper to get furious at injustice, but you shouldn’t go through life being constantly angry and miserable. Just look at how that’s working out for the leftists.

Take some time to step away from the 24/ news cycle every now and then. Take a walk. Work out. Experiment with smoothie recipes. Read some book you’ve never heard of before**. Watch a movie made before you were born***. And when praying for God to deliver swift justice to the unrepentant wicked, remember to also pray that when judgement does fall you will not find yourself counted among the unrepentant wicked.

***Ever seen Buster Keaton’s The General? You should, it’s a masterpiece.

    1. I’ve read many authors of Appendix N, not all the works (though more than I recalled) and though Lord Dunsany was a pen name! Heh!

  7. Slightly off-topic: the WW&W bikini photo trend is up recently, and that’s very good.

  8. I just read the stunning nonfiction book “How to Become Anonymous: A Comprehensive Resource” by George Larrick and realized how important is to to stay private in an increasingly tyrannical world.
