War, You’re Soaking In It

“Fiddle-dee-dee! War, war, war, This war talk’s spoiling all the fun at every party this spring. I get so bored I could scream. Besides, there isn’t going to be any war.” – Gone With the Wind

For whatever reason, French players are in “spectator only” mode.

War.  It’s one way we find out the difference between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.

The traditional way that most people think about war involves troops and uniforms and guns and bombs.  That’s why people are focused on Ukraine – it seems like a time when the world might once again see something like in the old war movies.  Biden is especially wanting this, because it could distract the world from the economic and cultural ruin that’s spreading in the United States.  How else do you explain the free crack pipe initiative?

As I’ve noted before, the United States has spent trillions of dollars to try to make the “old” form of war obsolete.  As such, don’t expect the next war to look anything like the last wars.  Just like civilization, technology, and economy have evolved, so have the methods of war.

The aim of war is still the same, however:  to get your enemy to do something they would otherwise be unwilling to do, like watch The View.  You don’t have to use tanks or bombs to do it.  This was what the old Soviet Union planned to do with the United States – subvert it from within.

The Cold War really was a war.  The United States attempted to subvert the Soviet citizens through exposing them to the wonders of capitalism.  Plentiful food, for starters.  Blue jeans.  Rock and roll.  The average citizens could see that something was really, really wrong in their society.  At the end, people in the Eastern Bloc walked away from their governments.  In some cases, they evicted the former leadership 7.62mm at a time.

The Romanians made sure there wasn’t a next season.

The Soviet subversion of the United States was similar.  Just as the United States reviewed the cultural faults of the Soviets and exploited them, the Soviets looked at the problems in the United States and tried to undermine it using those problems.

And the undermining never stopped.  If you looked at the institutions under control of the Left in the 1970s, there weren’t that many.  The Left controlled:

  • Many Colleges and Universities.
  • The psychological establishment.
  • Lots of mainstream entertainment media.
  • Most mainstream news media.

This was, of course, the plan.  Get the Leftist foothold in academia and use it to indoctrinate the next generation.  The Left didn’t control the government schools at the time, because teachers work a long time, and most of the teachers in the 1970s graduated before the colleges fell.

Hippies refused Rolaids™, the last thing they wanted was an anti-acid.

That’s why this war was based on a “long march” through the institutions.  Sadly, even though the Soviet Union dissolved, their plan was still in motion.  Now, the following are mostly under the control of the Left:

  • The K-12 educational system.
  • Most Protestant religious organizations.
  • Most Catholic organizations.
  • The American Medical Association.
  • Most departments of the Federal government, absent the armed services.
  • The general officer corps of the armed services.
  • The courts.
  • Silicon Valley tech companies.
  • Most Fortune® 500™ companies.

Very quickly (within a decade, if nothing changes) the last institution will fall:

  • The junior officers and enlisted men of the armed services.

As I’ve discussed at length, part of the core of Leftism is hating the United States, the other is a pathological need to be a victim.  That’s why Leftist entertainment media always portrays the good guys as “the resistance” – what are they resisting?  The remnants of the United States.  Why do the statues have to come down?

Al has a molar pulled:  it was an inconvenient tooth.

The United States (as viewed from a common historical lens) cannot be allowed to have its mythology.  That mythology must be replaced by the new narrative – a mythology based on victimhood and oppression.  Even as they control the levers on every objective means of institutional power, they complain that the system is rigged against them.

Combined with that is the monetary policy of the United States which has been run with all of the discipline of a toddler in a room filled with chocolate birthday cakes.  As the bill for this mismanagement comes due, the tensions in the country will skyrocket.

The only thing the Left doesn’t have, are (at least) 80 million Americans who want nothing to do with the brave globalist/socialist future that’s planned.  I actually think the number will be substantially higher, because I think that when the center chooses sides, it will come down with the Right.

This situation is, of course, absolutely thrilling to China.  When I think about how China must factor in the United States into their plans in, say, the year 2040?  I think they assume that the United States will not be a factor on a global scale.

In the US, dogs are K-9.  In China, they are E-10.

In addition to the Soviet plan coming to final fruition, the United States is amazingly vulnerable to other things we don’t traditionally think of as war.  As mentioned above, we have an amazing mess in our monetary policy – and we have debt.  Think inflation is high now?  What happens when China starts dumping currency in the international market, and starts paying for oil with the Yuan?

Warfare in our current time starts to look like what someone did to the Iranians:  drop in a virus that makes their centrifuges that they were using to process nuclear material break.  Imagine the electrical grid being as reliable as Venezuela’s grid.  Sure, it could be enemy action.  But with current trends, it could also be our own ineptitude at running things in a world where hiring by merit seems to be a thing of the past.

What happens if every tenth financial transaction in our electronic payment system is “missed”?  How many days until the payment infrastructure is shut down and the entire country is in chaos?  What happens if Walmart™ experiences failure in the logistics and tracking system for the billions of dollars worth of goods that it handles?  How many people does Walmart© feed?

Due to the current emergency, Walmart™ has announced that they’ll open a second register.

These are all warfare, and don’t require a single soldier or a panzer division.  Moreover, this is exactly the type of warfare that has already been planned and prepared for in Moscow and Beijing.

I’d love to blame China, but the Chinese are mainly just looking out for the Chinese.  If the United States is in the way, the Chinese are going to pick the Chinese every time.  It’s self-interest.

And Biden and Putin?  One is a church-going Christian who loves his nation, who wants to help his people, and wants to secure his border.  The other is Joe Biden.

  1. That last paragraph says it all. Russia itself is the last Christian nation on the planet.

    1. I was out biking in LA during the Superbowl. Absolutely beautiful afternoon. Traffic was very light. The ocean was very calm. Temps around 80 degrees, even down by the beach. LA can be a great place (when it’s not disgusting), and the weather in February is almost always delightful (better than January, better than March).

Seems to me that the Super Bowl halftime show, which I also missed, fortunately, was a sort of “last hurrah.” Compton is increasingly, if not majority, of Mexican and Central American extraction.

      1. Who was playing, and who won?

I haven’t seen any news about a peaceful victory celebration that razed 10 city blocks…

      1. Very true. My statement should have been. One of the few remaining Christian nations

  2. An error we have made on /ourside/ for decades is thinking that when we defeated Communism that we had somehow won something but Communism is just one vehicle for a broader attack on Western civilization. It simply changed names and modified tactics but the subversion of White nations marched merrily on.

One thing worth noting, the early institutions to fall to the Left: entertainment, psychiatry, the media and the universities are also connected by another common trait, the same trait that is found in early Marxism and that still shows up over and over again when you look closely at who is subverting our society. Can anyone guess what it is?

    1. They are all Calvinists like Marx?

Agreed about communism. Communism was never a goal, it was a tactic to achieve a goal. People say communism fails, but only if looked at as a goal. As a tactic it is brilliant and often succeeds; large masses of people just can’t say no to “want free stuff?” Which is why those who actually believe in communism are referred to as ‘useful idiots’ by their own leaders.

    2. It’s a real headscratcher. I’m pretty much stumped about Hollywood, headshrinkery, newsmedia, and academia, so I guess I’d better look at early Marxism first and see if there is a pattern there.

Karl himself doesn’t count because his father changed his birthname of Herschel to Heinrich. Of the seven members of the first Politburo, Trotsky doesn’t count because he stopped being Lev Bronstein. Grigory Zinoviev doesn’t count because he stopped being Hirsch Apfelbaum. Lev Kamenev doesn’t count because he stopped being Lev Rozenfeld. And Grigory Sokolnikov doesn’t count because he stopped being Girsh Yankelevich Brilliant.

Nope. Not seeing any pattern. I have to admit that your question is too hard. Sorry.

    3. connected by another common trait

In https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Whiskey_Rebellion WASP General George Washington raised a huge army with the WASP Eastern seaboard family young men as officers, to oppress Americans who were using liquor as honest money. This made it so the entire currency supply of the new country would be a debt owed to the WASP East coast families. Not a lot of Eskimos in that story. Many people just can’t believe that a person of their racial and religious background, who looks handsome, is articulate and sounds sincere, would sell them out. Therefore some external enemy had to have done it.

For the Eskimos to be secretly in charge of everything then all the prominent people we’ve been told were decisionmakers, like Washington and Jefferson, would have to have been stripped of agency. However, you can’t point to the armies and assassins it would have taken to do such stripping. Was Napoleon a puppet of the Eskimos? Was Hitler? Is the Catholic church a puppet? Were the ancient Egyptian royals 4,000 years ago early puppets of the Eskimos?

      1. Whiskey rebellion wasn’t about debt, it was about taxes and geography. And the good guys won, since they continued to not pay the tax until the next election when Washington’s party was swept out in part due to the embarrassment of the WR. At which point the tax was repealed.

There is a difference in being screwed over by people who want to be in charge of a nation that they identify with and who identify with you by race if not by class, and being screwed over by people who do not identify with you in any way and whose entire history is one of hate and fear of your race. Which was worse, a whiskey tax or the 1965 Immigration Act? Whiskey tax or Federal Reserve Act?

        1. Whiskey rebellion wasn’t about debt, it was about taxes and geography.

Whiskey Rebellion was about making the entire national currency a loan indebted to the Eastern establishment, a situation which didn’t change when a new president was elected. Moonshiners not paying the “taxes” (which went to pay the national debt, which didn’t legally exist because there was no American legislature in existence then to have agreed to that debt, which means taxation without representation is fine if we do it) was unimportant. What was important was obliterating the moonshiner’s honest money. It’s oversimplifying, but think of the national currency as equal to the GDP. Which then sends a few percent a year of the GDP each year to the Eastern establishment families as “interest”.

Whiskey tax or Federal Reserve Act?

Think of squashing the Whiskey Rebellion with an army as the predecessor of the Federal Reserve Act.

There is a difference in being screwed over by people who want to be in charge of a nation that they identify with and who identify with you by race if not by class, and being screwed over by people who do not identify with you in any way and whose entire history is one of hate and fear of your race.

You’re saying the ruler is kinder if he looks like you, and I’m saying he isn’t. Most Nazis were Germans, and most of the Spanish Inquisition were Catholics; this track record doesn’t tell much about Germans or Catholics. I’m saying race or religion as a first approximation for evil is a lousy first approximation, and instead you should focus on individual behavior to begin with. Otherwise you both reject allies and overlook the guilty. Woodrow Wilson and FDR should get no benefit of the doubt from the mere fact they were the most common race in their geographic region.

      2. Your logic and examples have swayed me. I will now do the same to debunk two similarly hateful beliefs. (Though not as hateful as anti-Eskimotism. Anti-Eskimotism is defined as failing to worship Eskimos. Nothing is as hateful as failing to worship Eskimos.)

Hateful Belief #1. “Blacks commit a lot of violence.”
Yeah? Genghis Khan and his Mongols killed a LOT of people and destroyed entire civilizations. Are you haters saying that Genghis Khan was Black? And Vlad Tepes impaled people, which is pretty damned violent. Are you seriously telling me that Dracula was Black? Whatta bunch of maroons.

Hateful Belief #2. “Chinese people eat weird stuff.”
The Romans were terribly fond of garum, a fermented fish sauce. Are you saying the Romans were Chinese? (Though that would explain why Jackie Chan and John Cusack became friends in Dragon Blade, one of the best historical documentaries of recent times.) Iceland is infamous for hákarl (ammonia-reeking fermented shark prepared by burying it in sand for months). Are you haters claiming that Vikings were Chinese?

Look. No one with even half a brain is saying that Jews are responsible for all the ills of the West. Most Jews are not better or worse than anyone else; they’re just people. Plenty of Jews are good, decent persons. But that does not mean that Jews are not vastly over-represented among the ranks of those who have done great harm to the West. Similarly, most Blacks are law-abiding people who are not exceptionally given to violent crimes. But violent crimes in the US are disproportionately committed by Blacks. In my family (originally from near Shanghai) we are disgusted by sea cucumber, bird’s nest soup (puked-up fish and bird [swallow] saliva) and similar Chinese “delicacies”. Dad’s idea of a great meal was prime rib and baked potato washed down with a nice dark German beer. But that doesn’t invalidate the fact that Chinese eat weird stuff.

    4. The rot goes deep. I think you can find forces against freedom that have been in around for a very, very long time.

  3. “…absolutely thrilling to China…”

Required research – Herbert Hitch & The Dixie Delegation. Yes, we had Army Intelligence advising Mao during the Long March. Mr Hitch recommended backing Chiang. As*hole Allen Dulles overruled.

BTW, Myers Park Methodist refused to allow Xinhua on their property during Herb’s funeral. He also received Xmas & Chinese New Year’s Cards from Mao, befitting the only American “Hero Of The Chinese People”. Mao called him “Old Comrade”. Funnily, Herb was a hardcore Goldwater man.

    1. It always struck me as strange how we went through all that effort to utterly destroy 2 rising nationalist nations like Germany and Japan, then not just allow but help to rise 2 communist nations in their place. I wonder if that had anything to do with McCarthy being right about how heavily our government was influenced by communists? 1 or 2 divisions then, and now it would be Xi Jinping on a small island, worried about an invasion from the mainland.

      1. Herb Hitch’s son Jim & I go back 20+ years. The Dixie Delegation has pretty much been scrubbed from history; I use Duck Duck Go and only got 3 hits.

  4. I am struggling to find a war segue into discussing last night’s Superbowl Halftime Show. This was the Iwo Jima of the Culture Wars. The NFL let Hip Hop storm the field and they took no prisoners.

This morning’s reviews range from positive to ecstatic.

    I am appalled. Sigh.

    (Hey, Boomer!)

    1. (swear words)
      https://youtu.be/Fhd7fjSv9eo?t=61

Breitbart had an article on the halftime show whose first sentence was brilliantly dismissive: “The 1990s took center stage at the Super Bowl half-time show this year, during which rapper Eminem took a knee for yet-to-be explained reasons.”

      https://www.breitbart.com/sports/2022/02/13/rapper-eminem-kneels-during-half-time-show-performance/

I hope every person in the stadium that ever gets covid sues the artists for not wearing masks. Since it is CA, I think the death penalty may be on the table.

    2. I don’t care for TV sports generally and the Super Bowl in particular, but last night DH left the TV on when he exited to run some errands. I walked past just as the half-time show was being broadcast. No sound, but plenty to see – most of it skin. I was horrified to see the hot-sex gyrations of the scantily clad women. Imagine if people let their football-crazy children watch the game and ended up seeing a show like that! Many people naively tune in especially to see the half-time show.

I was really happy all my kids are grown and the grands prefer acting and ballet.

Has everyone in sports and show business totally lost their minds?

      1. “Has everyone in sports and show business totally lost their minds?”

I’m pretty sure it’s worse; they know exactly what they are doing.

  5. “I think that when the center chooses sides, it will come down with the Right.”

In what form will that support take, though? Voting? Protesting? Federal politics is lost to us, and has been for some time. Protesting only works if the TPTB already agree with you and only need an excuse to legislate as they already wish.
Moving to a flyover state and supporting separatism? Maybe. Almost by definition, those in the center don’t care enough to do much more than vote or click ‘like.’

    1. 80% of people are irrelevant. They will do as they are told. See, for proof, mask mandates, the months-long shutdown of nearly all commerce, and Covid shots.

      Only activists matter.

      1. As a wise man once said, “revolution is a spectator sport. Most will sit in the stands and cheer the winner.”

  6. Spot on commentary.

Putin will not invade he’s enjoying being in the heads of all the warmongers. Besides, China has his back, he just struck a massive commodities sale with China and he’s making serious energy industry bank. He’s not stupid like bidet.

When asked if I had to leave America, theoretically, where would I go? Russia, white and Christian.

False flag still ahead and the time of year does not bode well for moving heavy equipment.

  7. “What happens when China starts dumping currency in the international market, and starts paying for oil with the Yuan?”

Someone should give that some thought. From “Friend & Ally”:

“Can you believe it, Atazaki?” he asked, flourishing his newspaper. “The US economy imploding like this? I’m an engineer, not at economist, but how in the world…”
“Call it belief; call it faith. Lose it, and your world ends,” his friend replied, looking at a domestic part of his own newspaper.
“What’s that?” What Hakane knew of politics could fit into a sake cup.
“Since the war,” for a Japanese, that meant only one thing, “the world economy had the US dollar as its reserve currency, backed, not by gold or silver, but by the faith – mind you – that the US will always be there!”
Atazaki glanced at the clock over the inner door and decided one more cigarette was in order.
“So now we find,” he said, pointing at Hakane’s paper with his lighter, “that as the American President is being removed via extra-Constitutional means, the Russians, Chinese, and Indians are rolling out a new currency… what’s it called?”
    “The ria,” Hakane managed.
“Whatever. Backed by the gold they’ve been buying up for a generation, and indexed to oil. At that point, US dollars became valueless.”

  8. I heard NPR’s review of the Super Bowl Halftime Show this morning, with brief excerpts, and realized that they’re really “bending over backwards” to try to outgrow their Eurocentric roots. I don’t think they understand that the urban audience they’re trying to reach already has its own media to listen to, and they’re not going to catch a desperate NPR story by accident and suddenly decide to support the pledge drive.

There’s no venue for selling out to the Corporate Entertainment Industry quite like the Super Bowl. How can their rebellion stay relevant?

As for me, I’ll settle back with some Duke Ellington, Cole Porter, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and maybe Michael Jackson.
