  1. A friend/client that has a house on Lake Hickory, NC; winters on Pawley’s Island, SC. The Hickory FD burned a practice house built in the 1960s upwind of his house in Hickory.

    Seeing the memes above, I told him to suspect asbestos & lead based paint fumes. Save your furnace filters.

  3. Testosterone blockers and IQ: Dropping 7 points is about half a standard deviation. But when you’re starting from 80 (stupid; more than 1SD below the mean for normal human beings) and you drop to 71 (just about 2SD down) you’re really in the hole.

    Or maybe the Uber driver from this morning. Ralph from Haiti, who is one of the stupider persons I’ve ever met. Unable to comprehend the directions (arrows on a map, FFS) on his dash GPS. Guy nearly crashed us into a barrier on the Mass Pike, then literally came to a dead stop with the car skewed 45 degrees across two lanes at the airport. What puzzles me is how this moron came to be in possession of a late model Honda Odyssey with fancy leather seats.

    Ralph’s imbecility was exceeded only by that of prior Uber driver Jean from Haiti (notice a pattern here?), who was not only stupid, but volatile and aggressive. That … person not only didn’t understand English, he couldn’t understand the proper French spoken by his GPS. The tax is real.
