34 Signposts On The Way To Civil War . . .

“Who else is on the list?” – The Godfather

Terrorists really help with self-esteem issues.  They keep telling their new recruits, “You’re the bomb.”

The devolution of the United States was predicted by Thomas Chittum in his book Civil War Two, The Coming Breakup of America.  Although you can find it for free online, I strongly encourage you to purchase it from Amazon®, since Mr. Chittum does get the money from this and has been using it to get families out of South Africa.

Towards the back of the book, Mr. Chittum provides the Civil War II Checklist, a list of 36 items “in no particular order” that he sees as measurements along the way to Civil War 2.0.  He wrote the book originally in 1997, and updated it in 2007, so we’ll be marking close to two decades of time between his last update and this quick analysis.

Item 1:  Every time you see a blank for your ethnic group on a form, think Civil War II.

Recent Supreme Court rulings as well as President Trump’s removal of DEI at the federal level have taken us back from the peak, but I believe many federal DEI organizations are still there, just under different names.  Regardless, it’s a part of our culture now.  Check.

Santa never pays for parking – it’s always on the house.

Item 2:  If illegal aliens are allowed to vote, even in local elections, it will be another unmistakable signal that American citizenship, and therefore America itself, is finished.

California, Maryland, and Vermont allow this.  Check.

Item 3:  The abolition of the right to bear arms.

This is one area where we’ve made great strides since Mr. Chittum wrote his book.  Gun rights are at the best condition that they’ve been during my entire lifetime.  This is the power of a group keeping after it year after year.

Item 4:  Watch for racially split juries.

We are here.  Multiple cases of black criminals walking free despite clear proof of guilt of them killing white people exist.  Check.

Item 5:  Watch for the military to assume police duties.

I have to give this a “not yet” since the National Guard and Marines were in an unarmed force protection role in Los Angeles.

Item 6:  Watch for the establishment of an elite military force outside the chain of command of the regular military to serve as an internal counterinsurgency force.

Not seen, unless I missed this or the Ghostbusters™ count.

I hear the Ghostbusters™ didn’t wear unusual socks, just a pair of normal socks.

Item 7:  Watch for Washington D.C. to increasingly resemble the capital of some banana republic under siege by revolutionaries and mobs.

I’m going to give this a check as the periodic riot fences go up.  Check.

Item 8:  Resegregation: Watch for Africans and other minorities demanding, and often getting, separate facilities for themselves, another clear sign that they’re continuing to reject co-option.

Absolutely.  From graduation ceremonies to student unions to “safe spaces” this is common even though they still claim a Constitutional right to be around white people.  Check.

Item 9:  Watch for further replacement of individual rights by group rights, group rights based on ethnic group.

This had been well underway, and is likely only slightly impeded by the Trump administration.  Check.

Item 10:  Watch for non-governmental organizations acquiring military power.

Outside of Blackwater™ or whatever Erik Prince is up to, I don’t see this as significant.

Item 11:  Watch for real political power to continue to shift from our elected officials to the courts, and thus away from the American people.

Check.  Check.  Check.  The courts in the United States are fundamentally a liberal institution, and are acting as a one-way rachet – the GloboLeft can do anything, but TradRight can’t change it a bit.  Check.

A hamburger walked into a bar buy they wouldn’t give him a beer.  They don’t serve food.

Item 12:  Watch for more instances of real political power flowing from American institutions to international bodies, thus again flowing away from American citizens.

There has been some of this, especially with the drive to worship Climate Change, and the drive has been to create these not as treaties, but as international “agreements” that don’t require ratification.  Check.

Item 13:  Watch for minorities and radical whites to continue to seize control of American institutions.

Check.

Item 14:  Watch for secessionist movements and other movements seeking autonomy on American soil.

I’ve seen several of these show up on the TradRight, very few on the GloboLeft because they cannot accept the idea of people opting out of their delusions.  Besides, the biggest sign of an impending divorce is Mom and Dad talking about it.  Check.

Item 15:  Watch for race-based political parties, a sure sign of racial polarization.

Trump won 42% of the Hispanic vote, so not quite there yet.  Only 16% of blacks voted for Trump, and if that was the only group we’d call it.  Verdict:  not yet.

Item 16:  Watch for the emergence of “no-go” areas for the police in our cities, areas abandoned by the police and left to the control of street gangs.

There are plenty of these in the United States, and even more in the summer during riot season.  Check.

Item 17:  Watch for a so-called slave tax refund or some similar vehicle that will automatically subsidize all blacks for life.

This has not happened.

The Vatican doesn’t take them though, it’s a PayPal™ state.

Item 18:  Watch for court orders and other schemes mandating more voting districts in which blacks are intentionally a majority.

This has 100% happened in Alabama.  Check.

Item 19:  Watch other multiethnic empires for ethnic violence, a general loss of democracy, increasing poverty, waves of refugees, and their actual breakup in ethnic warfare.  South Africa, Russia, Turkey, the Balkan countries, Brazil, all of black Africa, Mexico, Guatemala, India, Pakistan and Peru are all multiethnic empires to some extent.

Mixed bag, but I’ll give it a check as the waves of refugees and poverty are evident in many of these.  Check.

Item 20:  Watch for the spread of walled suburbs, euphemistically labeled as gated communities.

This continues.  Check.

Item 21:  Watch for more mind control hoaxes by the establishment media.

This references the fake and contrived news.  Absolutely this is happening.  Check.

What does Willy call an economic depression?  An everlasting jobstopper.

Item 22:  Watch for an increasing percentage of minorities in our military, the use of foreigners in our military, the use of UN troops on our soil, or even the establishment of an American Foreign Legion.

This is partially true, but UN will likely never happen.  I’m still giving it a check.  Check.

Item 23:  Watch for more out of court settlements in cases of alleged racial discrimination.

I think most of these are out of court or are administratively done at this point.  Check.

Item 24:  Watch for more restrictions on freedom of speech by the government and the establishment media.

This has happened, especially on the Internet.  If not for Musk’s purchase of Twitter™ this would have been complete, reducing actual free speech to a vanishingly small number of sites.  Check.

Item 25:  Watch for police to increasingly abandon their traditional uniforms for ones that resemble military and secret police uniforms in their dark color or camouflage, military helmets, opaque face shields, and absence of name tags.

Barney and Sheriff Taylor are gone.  Check.

When the military becomes the police, citizens become the enemy.

Item 26:  Watch for clandestine groups of white officers to form within our federal, state  and local police – groups similar to the Resistors in the Green Berets.

I have no idea.  Clandestine, right?

Item 27:  Watch for an arm of the federal government charged with promoting racist affirmative action, such as the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, to acquire agents that carry guns and have the power to make arrests.

Nope.

Item 28:  Watch for the collapse of the US dollar as the world’s premier currency.

In progress, but still the world’s main cash, so not yet.

Item 29:  Watch for growing geographic segregation and its increasing mention in the establishment press.

I’ve seen dozens of articles about just this happening and that Idaho is full and that California plates on a car are like a kick-me sign on the back of the class idiot.  Check.

Item 30:  Watch for signs that the global military equation and American dominance in it are being challenged.

Not yet.  We’ll see.

I wonder if they’ll wear plaid?

Item 31:  Watch for the breakup of Canada. If Canada does break up along ethnic and linguistic lines, it will bode ill for its neighbor which is an even worse multiethnic and multilingual mishmash.

I’m calling this one a “never will” as Canada has self-immolated with unending waves of third-world immigrants destroying the place.  Item Removed.

Item 32:  Watch for an increased flow of Americans immigrating to Canada.

It’s up, not by much, and why would you move to Mumbai on the Arctic Ocean?  Item Removed.

Item 33:  Watch for political and legal organizations formed along ethnic lines that will parallel, and ultimately displace their official rivals.  For instance, watch for organizations with names like The Association of Hispanic States, or the Black Mayors Conference.

There are plenty of these.  Check.

Item 34:  Watch for more help wanted ads stating that job applicants must be bilingual.

Check.

Item 35:  Watch for indications that the UN is assuming the role of a world government, and that the US is losing even more of its national sovereignty to the UN.

No.  The UN is weaker now than at any time in history.  We have, however, lost a lot to international treaty organizations and corporations.

Item 36:  Watch for a certain picture. We’ve all seen this picture countless times before, a picture from Beirut, Budapest, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Yugoslavia, Somalia – a burnt-out tank, perhaps the charred corpse of a crewman protruding through a hatch, and jubilant rebels posing atop the tank waving assault rifles and a flag. Someday we shall see this picture in our newspapers yet again, and this time taken on American soil. The tank, the dead crewman, and rebels will all be Americans, all will be American except the flag, which will be a Mexican, Aztlan, New Africa, or Confederate flag. When we see this picture, it will be too late. Civil War II will be upon us. But there’s another picture we’ll see first, again one we’ve all seen before from some unfortunate land. But this time it will be taken right here in the US of A – a picture of a dirty, ragged child foraging for food in a garbage dump.

I’ll leave number 36 up to you.  Here’s my nominee photo.

Summarizing that, my count is that there are twenty or twenty-one landmarks complete out of the total thirty-four landmarks on the way to Civil War 2.0.  I think that in no way do all thirty-four have to be checked for war to be here – it’s just a barometer.

What’s your score?

  1. Number 18 should probably be separated into two distinct parts. Traditionally, the courts used gerrymandering to create black voting districts by redrawing the maps.. Now the politicians and NGO’s have found it is much easier to just transplant a large group of refugees into an area and overwhelm the districts.

The latter is much worse in my opinion because it has allowed a bloc of politicians (i.e. the Squad) to form who prioritize their native countries’ interests over that of the US.

      1. Voting has always been explicitly racial (or at minimum to maximize racial gibs) for every flavor of nonwhite. It’s only the falsely-proud color-blind Whites who have always refused to recognize this.

    1. “Item 26: Watch for clandestine groups of white officers to form within our federal, state and local police – groups similar to the Resistors in the Green Berets.”

I don’t know about within the police ranks, but in regard to the military I think we can throw this one out. The institution has been completely captured by the enemy and has been that way for quite a while. The Obama purge of non-communist officers probably sealed it. The evidence is plain as noon. You have the last Chairman of the JCS phoning in treason to Communist China regarding a sitting president and he is not even punished. You have a military disaster in the 2021 withdrawal from A-Stan, and again no one punished but some LTC who called them all out on it. Just recently another colonel was hunted down and removed from the JCS staff for expressing his opinion about Zionists in forums like this one with a pseudonym. You have standards lowered and a “no fail” policy in place for obviously unqualified women to be passed through Ranger School and all the other elite formations. And then there was the whole tranny thing. In short, the military rolled over and took it all as it came rather than resist anything. Do not be deluded, these are not OUR troops any longer.
The whole point of Steve Barry’s periodical was to inspire a core of resistors in the standing military and ideologically align and prepare the unorganized militia in preparation for adult leadership if and when the time came. Steve and his SFU were never more than a few individual writers, though they certainly inspired a large following of sympathizers and fellow travelers in and out of the ranks. Unfortunately, despite some brilliant writing and a worthy effort, those aims all fell short in the end. It is interesting to note that Steve wrote a review of Chittum’s book in 1997, which was followed by a published rebuttal from Mr. Chittum, and a cordial concluding summary. It was an interesting read, and both were correct about different things and wrong on others. 28 years later and it would seem Mr. Chittum is more right then wrong about most of it.

  2. #30 is starting. It’ll fester for a year, then explode in our faces next summer after the economy goes south.

And the Space Balls radar will get jammed.

  3. Regarding Item #31, Alberta separatism chatter is on the rise again.

    https://policyoptions.irpp.org/magazines/june-2025/alberta-separatism/

The Keystone XL pipeline is back in play, a likely source of friction in Alberta’s ongoing politics. If there’s one region of Canada that would consider becoming the 51st American State, it’s Alberta.

As for your Item #36, here’s my submission for the guy-on-a-vehicle-with-a-flag photo…

    https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1936439716842508529

  4. Item #22 also applies to our highways and local communities….not just the military. We’ve all seen the massive uptick in highway accidents due to the presence of foreign CDL truck drivers.

It’s a huge security risk to allow non-citizens to have unfettered access to haul cargo around your country. But I guess I am racist for thinking that.

    1. You used to have to manually split shift gears/axles, but all new semis are 12-16 speed automatics. So, much easier to pass the road CDL. You do have to pass a written test but guess it’s race favored. The hazmat CDL test is tough, period. For all applicants.

      1. They all pass the test with a restricted “A” only, but most are unqualified to operate an 18 wheeler. They are under trained and mostly educated by Hollywood. Case in point, high beams! When I pass another truck they flash me with their high beams, which means “hazard” or “stay in your lane.” And all of them are clueless.

    2. The Freight Brokers don’t care, they’ll book a good load cheap to a foreign carrier, depriving honest carriers a fair rate. I went to Hill AFB, Utah! and over 90% of the delivery 18 wheeler drivers were foreign drivers who barely or did not speak and understand English. They were denied entry and restricted to the holding area along the entrance drive way. After almost two hours (excessive for a delivery) at the site, upon departing, most of those trucks were still there while the carriers and brokers were attempting to find American drivers to complete the load deliveries. Makes me wonder about critical military freight through the private sector.

  5. Item #22 – the way the UN could get their troops in the USA, is if we “elect” another Dem president, and EOs are used to permit/entice American military to enroll in UN military as a part-time force akin to the National Guard, in addition to their current enlistment.
If things in the US started looking spicy, the UN would call up some of the most highly trained to fight in another region. That would gut the available service members.
Of course, the UN would offer military from some OTHER place. Nice way to bring in the invaders semi-legally. Even if the UN troops pulled some of the crap they’ve pulled in other countries, resistance to those abuses would be “Insurrection”, and we all know where THAT goes.
Most of the current State Guards were gutted/defanged by states accepting materials and equipment from the US Army. In return they HAD to accept being called up by the Feds, whether or not their governors agreed to the call-up.

    1. That’s why Gov. Morris of Pennsylvania founded the “State Police” in 1917. Totally independent of Federal interferences.

  6. The wheels are in motion and stuff is happening (race riots, a new war, Congressional gridlock, out of control judges) even faster than I had anticipated.

  7. Such a big list and nowhere – NOWHERE – is there mention of the increasing amount of air in bags of potato chips.

Chittum really missed the ball on this.

  8. #17 – universal basic income by another name. Because guess who – aside from some tokens to show it’s “fair” – will qualify for it, and who will be left to work harder to foot the bill. Test runs have already been made.

  9. “Item 6: Watch for the establishment of an elite military force outside the chain of command of the regular military to serve as an internal counterinsurgency force.”

I’m not sure if I’d call them ‘elite’, but the FBI and ATF seem to fulfill this role. Ruby Ridge, Waco, for example. There are many other fed groups that have armed enforcement groups, such as BLM (Bundy Standoff) and even the IRS. I’ve sometimes wondered if these weren’t more for internal rather than external reasons: they are worried that soon even within the fed gov what happens depends on who has the most men with guns and badges.

    ===

“Item 30: Watch for signs that the global military equation and American dominance in it are being challenged.

    Not yet. We’ll see.”

I’d give it a ‘check’. We just lost 2 20+ year occupations, getting our asses kicked out. Then gave kajillions of dollars of our gear to Ukraine, along with our state of the art training, only to watch them get exterminated by vodka-swilling cossaks. The USN turned tail and ran from a bunch of goat fuckers in sandals, allowing a major shipping lane to be contested by the same goat fuckers.

I admit it’s on the edge, but I have a feeling it’s going to tip over conclusively to ‘check’ within a year.

    ===

    “Item 31: Canada”

There has been a lot of talk about secession within Canada, which is legal if they get the votes for it. Not just the frogs in Quebec either, but the mostly White western provinces. Those provinces have lots of young White men who produce stuff, which gets taken from them to support the old and the non-White in the eastern provinces.

I agree this should be removed as an item though, since it was written at a time when Canada was in a much better position compared to the US. It’s really gone down the shitter ethnically and culturally, so it’s not much of a bellwether any more. Ditto Item 32.

    ===

It’s interesting to see how so many are ‘checked’ yet some are not even close. The ones he isn’t close on are mainly ones that assume things happen on accident, rather than as part of a Plan. For example, the UN taking on more power disadvantages those who really run things due to the huge number of non-Western Islamic states that hate Israel, while the US retaining it’s hegemony benefits those who run the US. For example, the UN wouldn’t be bombing Iran it would likely be cheering them on against the Great Satan and the Little Satan.

It looks more like 1world gov is going to become 1world trading market, where each individual country is free to pretend it’s free, with the US and perhaps the EU if it finds it’s balls as the enforcement wing.

Item 17 Reparations gets proposed, but even CA realizes this is insane and would crash their economy in spite of still believing in the magic of MMT.

I first read Chittum’s “CW2” about 10ish years ago, and it continues to amaze me how prescient he was. Especially since he was a normie at the time he wrote it. I read a blog post of his around 2008 or so where he said after 9/11 he did a few months of research, and found some surprising things re: City of London and who really runs the world. He named a bunch of these people, and they were of a certain ethnicity. He also listed a number of research resources including Eustace Mullins, so I’m betting Chittum became aware of who really runs things.

    1. Keep in mind that this dates back decades, so there are trends that just will never happen.

    1. At one point he had a Patreon page?

      (Edited)

      I asked, his response:
“Thanks, but I’m OK here in sunny Puerto Rico.
I hope you are stocking up on food.”

      1. The fact he thinks Puerto Rico is a destination pretty much negates anything else he says.
He might as well move to Haiti, FFS.

        1. The book was written in the early 90’s when Puerto Rico was still a thriving economy. Granted, I still wouldn’t have relocated there due to cultural differences, but in fairness to Chittum, no one could have predicted PR would financially implode the way it did.

          1. Pretty much anyone, to include Beavis and Butthead, could have predicted Puerto Rico’s return to mean Turd World status on any timeline longer than “five minutes from now”. I’d be surprised to find anything other than that many people predicted exactly that outcome. The only real difference between Havana and San Juan since 1959 is that San Juan has newer Chevys.

We should sell Puerto Rico to Cuba for $1, which would be like combining Iraq and Iran into one nation, or chaining convicted murderers to alligators and throwing them into shallow swamps, and televising what transpires afterwards, for the pure entertainment factor.

There is no amount of wishcasting that excuses Chittum’s choice of venue, or that does not impugn his other philosophic offerings, unless his plan was to import a large mercenary tribe, and become the Godfather Warlord of San Juan, or something similar. That plan, at least, would be defensible.

Any other approach is like some earnest idiot savant twenty-something with no life experience moving to the Alaskan wilderness to make friends with Kodiak bears and wolves and teaching them to convert to a vegan lifestyle, with predictable results.

  10. I’ll tackle this in depth later in the week.

One obvious problem is that some of his barometrics are wholly irrelevant.
Yes, the media is full of…rose fertilizer.
But they’ve been supplanted by Alt media, and are wholly meaningless, except in their own heads.
And as half of them have been fired in the last six months, even they don’t believe their own press releases any more.

So that entire metric is trashcanable, right now.

I’ll dig in in depth when I feel like it.
TL;DR: Yeah, there are some indicators.
But there should be a weight assigned to them, because some of them are more important, and some of them less so, down to utterly meaningless.
The weight of the media one, for instance, should be weighted to 0%.
Others should assume a value of something between 0 and 5%.
That will give you a score totaling 100%, and much more accurate assessment of reality.

If they were of equal weight, 21/34 would equal 61% of the way to a civil war.
But they aren’t equal, so we aren’t at 61%.
We may be at 20%. We may be at 90%.

And wherever we were in 2023, we aren’t there in 2025.
And in 2029, we may a lot worse off, or a lot better off.

What’s concerning is the amount of lunacy that lets any of those boxes be checked.
Because 48% of the country works for a living, and 48% of the country votes for a living, and the uninformed clueless idiot 4% in the middle decides elections, hence policy.

    That cannot continue.
    And it won’t.
    One way, or the other.

      1. Um, technically, you are referring to the 2nd law of thermodynamics. Colloquially as described by Ginsberg’s Theorem, the three laws of thermodynamics are, “You can’t win, you can’t break even, and you can’t get out of the game”.

        https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ginsberg%27s_theorem

To go off topic, the laws of thermodynamics are one of science’s greatest mysteries. They obviously work – air conditioning makes summertime in Alabama habitable, at least inside my house. But these laws depend on the validity of “conservation of energy” – that energy can neither be created or destroyed. How do you square that with Big Bang cosmology?

        https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/does-the-universe-violate-the-laws-of-thermodynamics/

        1. I always like a good nerd fight in the morning 🙂

On a (slightly) more serious note (puts nerd cap on)…..the 2nd law only really applies to closed systems and I think this is why the US has been able to avoid collapse for as long as it has. The US is not a closed system but the world as a whole is (at least in financial terms if we assume ET’s and reptilians aren’t influencing world govts).

The US has been generating the lion’s share of entropy for decades but so far has been able to offload that entropy on to the rest of the world in the form of debt (thank you Bretton Woods). While our net entropy is still fairly low, the entropy of the world continues to get much worse. Global debt was over $300 trillion dollars as of 2022. That’s some serious entropy right there which is why WWIII is probably going to happen in our lifetimes.

          JBird

      2. That contention is simply counter-factual to all of human history.
Explain Boston or NYFC in 1750, compared with 1800.
Or the White House in 2014 compared with 2018, or 2022 compared with 2025.
        Show all work.

Things get better all the time in human history.
It simply requires the will, and sufficient effort in furtherance of that will.

    1. This was meant to be a retrospective look. I think that from the vantage point of 20 to 30 years ago, this isn’t a bad list. And, no, not all of them are required for things to get spicy. Or, spicier.

      1. John, It’s a GREAT list. Thank you for pulling all of this together. Chittum wasn’t 100% accurate, but he foresaw a trend long before everyone else. Now talk of secession/CW is a on everyone’s mind.

Igor Panarin also came out a few years after Chittum and predicted that mass immigration and social tension would break the US apart by 2010. He based his prediction on what he saw when the USSR collapsed and it only reinforced Chittum’s conclusions (Igor’s comments are what made me aware of Chittum’s book). He was ridiculed when CW hadn’t happened by 2010, but was he really wrong?

2010 was right in the middle of Obama’s first term, the economy had just crashed and racial tensions were getting exponentially worse. Most consider Obama as the inflection point where the country really started to go off the rails, particularly as deficit spending exploded.

I actually think Igor got it right, and that we are already in CW2.0. The only reason it isn’t kinetic yet is because they can still throw a lot of money at the masses to keep them quiet. Once the govt is bankrupt, we will all get to learn first hand what the word “balkanization” means.

        J-Bird

        1. It was Chittum’s list. If you compare a picture of 1950 to 2020 NYC, we already live in a dystopia.

  11. You might want to try the Bible if Chittum is referencing neo nazi Mullins he had a screw loose.

    Hosea 5:15

    1. How is that even relevant? Eustace Mullens wrote about the Federal Reserve Bank amongst other topics.

  12. Item 10: Watch for non-governmental organizations acquiring military power.

Cartels are a non governmental organization. They have anti tank and automatic weapons. Armored vehicles and drones. They’ve engaged Border Patrol.

It isn’t a based in the US, but they are operating here.

    1. The same is true of communist groups and other terrorist organizations, who’ve been “operating here” since the 1930s.

Take this list and apply it to the US during the Depression era, compare that with the same list from 1970, and five minutes ago, and get back to us.

I think you’ll find little has changed in the last century, other than the index of how many ancillary whacktards in the general population think it’s acceptable.
Which is traceable mainly to people not outright shooting those idiots in the face, nor giving them the Louisville Slugger shampoos they richly deserve.

If it had simply been legal to go to downtown LA and start shooting protesters in the recent Diversity celebrations there, the riots would have been over in about 15 minutes, the city none the worse for wear, and the population’s mean IQ would have gone up 20 points overnight. The only bad metric would have been the burden on local landfills and crematoriums, and even that would have been temporary at best.

What you subsidize, you get more of, and what you tax, you get less of” has been an iron law of politics for four millennia, at least.

  13. Sigh. All well and good, my friends. But nothing will truly happen until the Amerikan economy implodes. I have read and re-read Mr. Chittum’s book many times. When the balloon finally goes up and the sheeple, normies, cucks, FEDGOV remoras, and Mall Zombies are broke and hungry, then the predictions will come to pass in spades. A better and more current set of events would be Selco’s SHTF stories. Keep in mind what he wrote in that everything was fine until it wasn’t and it all happened quickly. Bleib ubrig.

      1. I think there just needs to be THE event. And there are people who want a war here, crocket probably has dreams of thunderdome lol
