Here’s my second country effort. I really liked the way this turned out, and I hope that you do, too. The Mrs. listened to the first few bars and said, “Oh, honey, you need to send this to radio stations – it’s better than any country music coming out today.”
And, it is country music, as in, OUR COUNTRY and I can’t think of a better day to release it than Pearl Harbor Day which is also a Sunday.
Enjoy, but remember, this ain’t over, and we ain’t done.

We Ain’t Done
By John Wilder
My Grandpa laid steel rails and planted grain
One wage fed a family, no shame, no pain
Church on Sunday, flag on the wall
We knew who we were, stood proud and tall
Now the boy with the wrench can’t buy a damn thing
College kid’s degree don’t make the phone ring
Borders wide open, wages dragged low
Foreign visa armies come take what we sowed
They said the dream was dead and done
But we’ve heard that lie before, son
Valley Forge froze us, Pearl Harbor bled
Depression starved us, still we raised our head
This ain’t the first time they counted us out
We’ve got fire in the blood and a rebel shout
Hold the line, boys, the wheel’s gonna turn
America rises when the righteous burn
Mill towns rust, Silicon Valley was sold
And the youth on the curb, feelin’ mighty cold
But every damn time they said we were through
We found our backbone and we busted on through
They said the dream was dead and done
But we’ve heard that lie before, son
Gettysburg fields, Normandy sand
We crawled through the fire, took the promised land
This ain’t the darkest hour we’ve seen
We’ve still got God, family, and kerosene
Hold the line, boys, the wheel’s gonna turn
America rises when the righteous burn
We’ve been knocked to our knees a thousand times
Still got calloused hands and stubborn minds
The blood that built this land ain’t run dry
Just watch what happens when real Americans remember why
Yeah, they said the dream was dead and done
But we’ve heard that lie before, son
We’ve faced down hell with a Bible and gun
And every single time, my friend, we won
So plant your feet, lift your chin to the sky
This story ain’t over, we ain’t gonna die
Hold the line, boys, the tide’s gonna turn
America rises when the righteous burn!
Hell no,
This ain’t over
we ain’t done…
It just takes a fire to warm us up.

A song for the times. “Hold the line…” indeed!
That is a great song and I agree with the lyrics. When things get difficult – lean into it and push on through.
Thank you! More to come!
Just writin’ what’s inside . . .
Excellent song, hopefully we can overcome the 24 O 7 propaganda designed to keep us feeling helpless.
I’m so tired of the keyboard patriots calling each other cowards because they aren’t starting the party.
But that’s that damn propaganda keeping us “aware” that the nail that stands up gets hammered and why Kyle Rittenhouse was so PUBLICALLY Lawfared for what a year and almost sent to jail but for a brave set of Juries.
There IS 2 sets of Laws, one for them and one for us. Get over it. Complaining the law isn’t fair, really?
OPSEC folks, OPSEC is what keeps you available to be an American during our currently ongoing 3 letter Color Revolution
That’s really the purpose, to get our ideas out to the world.
wow that is good. very impressive.
Thank you! I liked how this one came out.
I could not agree more..sime of us are not done and lots of us are done already. Good end will have a bloody evil middle.
Yup, done when I’m done breathing.
Yep! this one riled me up in the best possible way. Good song, John. I agree with your wife – this should reach wider play. You’ll be famous!!
We’re working on it!
John – – I think you found your niche. Meaningful lyrics for today’s life.
That inaugural album is getting closer.
Great job.
Thank you so much!!!!
This needs to be sent to Aaron Lewis immediately. Make sure you get your royalties 🙂
Hadn’t thought of sending these out to artists . . .
John Rich, for sure
Got kerosene?
Well, I do…
Kerosene goes “whooosh”
Closed borders don’t mean high wages; they mean you’re no longer militarily competitive. Soon somebody will stop by and inform you that you’ve lost a war and need to start paying tribute.
The politicians you elected say you must support non-workers. You comply. As you are receiving the policies you keep voting for, what exactly is your complaint? It’s like you believe the spoken words of your magic spells alter reality, rather than your hand giving the money you earned to others.
Maybe somebody could invent a computer thingy where tens of millions of you could coordinate to elect politicians who defend your freedoms.
Well done sir!
Karl Ushanka
I enjoyed that. Very good.
