An unpaid internship is nothing like slavery. Slaves were given food and housing.
Body cams have undone tens of millions of dollars of propaganda effort spent during the 1960s through at least 2010. During that time period, thousands of hours of movie and television were spent on what I’ll call “sympathy porn” to describe emotionally laden content used to create sympathy for a group.
Roots is a prime example.
Back when there were only three channels in most places. Yes, three, ABC©, NBC®, and CBS™. Just as today, nobody watched PBS© because nobody needed a tote bag. ABC© decided to run Roots in January of 1977. I’ll have to note that the book the miniseries was based on was published in August of 1976, so it’s clear that the production of the miniseries started before the book was even released.
A quick check shows that filming started in May of 1976. And filming doesn’t start until everything is planned, so when were the film rights purchased?
1974.
The author of the book wouldn’t finish writing the book until November of 1975, yet his agent had already sold the film rights at least twice. The timeshare salesmen could learn from this guy.
I feel bad for my cousin in prison who stutters. Six months and he hasn’t finished his sentence.
Roots was an inevitable production, since it fell in line with the propaganda that had been everywhere since the end of World War II. The themes of the early films almost always featured a dignified, intelligent black protagonist, a white Leftist conscience figure, and a moral that showed the white people were wrong all along.
Most of them seemed to star Nonthreatening Well-Spoken Black Man® Sidney Poitier.
But that wasn’t enough because most people didn’t want to go see these movies. So, Roots. Let’s spend the equivalent of $40 million today making a movie to tell Americans they were rooting for the wrong side in all of those westerns.
The plan?
- Make white people feel guilty about slavery that hadn’t existed for over a hundred and ten years.
- Make black people angry about slavery that hadn’t existed for over a hundred and ten years.
- Profit!
And profit it did, but the profits came from, well, there’s no putting a pretty face on it: lies and plagiarism. But I guess there are a lot of Emmys® to be won using lies and plagiarism.
The court found me guilt of using clickbait titles. What happens next will shock you!
Examples? Alex Haley, “author” of the book Roots lifted over 80 passages directly from another novel into his. He also stole plot elements and scenes. How bad was it? The judge described it as Haley having “perpetrated a hoax on the American public.”
I said another novel. Roots was supposed to be non-fiction, right?
Well, if you can make up non-fiction, I guess Roots is that.
Huge numbers of the people claimed to be Haley’s family couldn’t have been based on records. Haley must have just made it up. A journalist going through Haley’s paper and notes came to the conclusion that every specific genealogical claim that Haley made was false.
Other lies in the film are blatant and I’ll linger on it a bit: the film has a white guy leading four black guys into the jungle to go find slaves. The actual people who found and sold the slaves in almost every case were black people. Blacks rounded them up, blacks took them to ports, and then blacks traded black slaves for gunpowder and horses and whiskey. Or PEZ©. Or whatever blacks liked back then.
More historically accurate than Roots.
Had the black captives not been sold into slavery, they would have been killed and eaten, and if they were lucky it would have been in that order. But in the movie, to create the idea that a black person could possibly do anything wrong was against The Message. So, they had to have a white guy be in charge.
There are people who defend Haley and Roots as “symbolic history”, but I’m going to stick with Sympathy Porn, which is what it is. Symbolic history is the last defense, apparently, after the footnotes die.
Roots was a nine-hour attempt to create sympathy in a public that, in many cases, didn’t interact with blacks at all. By the time I was 18, I had interacted with approximately six total black people.
It got cold on Wilder Mountain, and the numbers of blacks were pretty low.
Two of the blacks had been teachers, and they seemed okay and treated me well. They were married to each other. Their daughters were about my age but not in my grade, but I recall them as being mean little snakes. The other two? One had been brought from Houston by his brother, who went to the local college and was an assistant football coach.
The brother who was the only black that I knew of that had ever gone to that school. And he got arrested for bringing a .357 revolver into school and then, poof, back to Houston. I guess. Maybe he went to medical school.
It’s like I told my spine surgeon, “Get back to work.”
Roots was aimed at people like me. Young, impressionable people who hadn’t been around blacks and would be susceptible to Sympathy Porn. The adults had seemed to be okay, but the kids were all awful, but The Message was that it wasn’t their fault, somehow.
I guess that’s the same idea that Gemini® has, too. I asked it about the rates of black violence being so high, and it says, “it’s shaped by socioeconomic, historical, and systemic factors, not inherent racial traits.” When I ask why the richest black community is more violent than the poorest white community it breaks and flat refuses to answer the question.
And then it tells me I’ve been de-banked. I guess it’s the same priesthood, but customer service is worse. Stupid 2020s.
2026 is a year in which everyone can see who is causing the violence on video clip after video clip. It’s the blacks. It’s not all of them, but it’s always them.
We’ve reached the end of Sympathy Porn being able to shape the opinions of people who have had their eyes opened by the reality of the footage captured by the body cameras.
Maybe I should write a book about this. Any bids for the movie rights?
The novel was the Africans and Haley paid 2 million in a settlement. Haley used 150 pages of the novel!
Two interesting things about slavery. In many cases slaves cooked and took care of their owners children and two why did the slaves not rise up when the men were away at war? I’m not saying it was good but Christianity was received and there were no crocodiles and lions.

Now that you have cell phones and ten kinds of one-to-many horizontal communications, why don’t you form grand juries and prosecute the politicians who are obvious crooks? You obey because you’re domesticated. It only took six generations to domesticate foxes, but it’s been 2,026 years since the mainstream media wrote a book saying you had to obey their dictates or the invisible boogieman would torture you after death.

There are thousands of religions, and no scientific way to tell which one if any is correct. All religions are nondisprovable. Why should we believe that exactly all of the supernatural spiritual creatures should be perfectly careful to never leave any evidence exactly all of the time? No matter how hurting a ghost is, or insane a devil is, not once in all of recorded history does it leave a mark or trace which can be shown as proof to other humans. Given the complete lack of evidence for the supernatural, it’s simpler to believe they are boogieman stories concocted to push humans around.
Man can’t tell the difference between wine and every kind of adulterated cheap-as knock-off.

Fun fact one of only 2 black kids in my high school was also arrested for bringing a gun to school, this would have been mid 80s. I’m sensing a pattern….
Also in the category of sympathy porn: Schindler’s List. Prior to that film most WW II movies dealt with the big war scenes (A Bridge To Far, Patton, etc.) but SL seemed to change the entire perspective of what the war was all about and set a new standard for cartoonish villains.

It’s not just cartoonish, but insidious as well. Just look at the term “Nazi”. Allied soldiers never referred to the German’s as Nazis in real life (instead using terms like Kraut or Jerry) , but you wouldn’t know that watching more recent movies. Nazis were a political party made up of only about 10% of the population and the vast majority of German soldiers weren’t in that party.
It would be like calling US soldiers “Democrats” .

Interesting how increasing the number of video cameras from 3 owned by ABC, CBS and NBC to three hundred million owned by everybody in the US changes things. But now AI slop is getting so good that it’s a keyboard and not a camera that is the key to to shaping people’s perceptions and emotions by the video they see. The funhouse mirror by which our reality is defined continues to evolve…
And it’s also amazing how much of that footage is provided by the people doing the crimes.
Although there were no blacks in my elementary school, there was a significant cohort in junior high. They were loud and traveled in packs and had their own ‘turf’ in the cafeteria. The boys liked to flip up girls’ dresses. I remember goggling at a pregnant black girl in 9th grade. By the time I trotted off to college right before ‘Roots’ came out, although still a lib, I was already leery of them. After freshman year, there was a housing shuffle and most blacks went and lived in the quad by choice. That’s when people’s mail started disappearing.
Sympathy porn, cultural vandalism – it’s all of a piece. As they say, history is written by the victors. As older books get shredded for AI and sold off en masse from libraries, only Officially Permitted ‘Facts’ will be available anywhere. We already have 50 years of ‘merkan schoolkids raised on antiwhite lies and Sympathy Porn, and in another 10-15 years there will be almost no one left who knows any different. Besides, no one listens to old bitter clingers.
And private Christian schools and Christian publishers are no solution. They, too, push Sympathy Porn and antiwhite history. I protested when my younger son was taught that Benjamin Banneker designed Washington D.C. (no mention of Pierre L’Enfant). Amazing – a black who never traveled to Europe or studied landscape design somehow knew instinctively how to lay out a city in the style of a French formal garden. After my protests were met with excuses, I pulled my son from the school.
As far as plagiarism goes, Alex Haley was merely following in the footsteps of ‘Doktah’ Michael King. Gee – did Haley like to f**k and beat White whores too?

Just saw in the news that the usual suspects are up in arms about a Converse ad that (they think) looks like KKK symbolism and a person being lynched. The ad featured a K-pop personality and was targeting Korean market. I looked at the ad and didn’t see anything unusual. Also can’t figure out why SK would even find use of Klan symbolism useful in the first place.
This follows an uproar over the (supposed) dramatic increase in black lynchings in recent months which led a bunch of Democrats to file a complaint in Washington. Never mind that the hangings were almost all deemed suicides (I think one was perpetrated by a black guy which kills the whole racist angle).
The weird thing is that the lynchings of the Reconstruction era weren’t really that common (if the history books I’ve read are accurate). A few did happen and these got played up as some sort of “boogeyman” but it was a rare event. But you wouldn’t know that based on TV as they make it look like every black person lived in perpetual fear of the noose during that time frame.
Maybe lynchings were rare, but I don’t think that it would take very many to cultivate a climate of perpetual fear, if the events were well publicized (as I suppose they were).
Just the silliest thing. If they would have pushed back, they would have won, but they’re Nike, so they apologized.
Between “Roots”, and “The Color Purple”, the indoctrination was successful, and the creation off too many fleshy headed mutants was complete. I blame much of it on the teachers. Whether it was due to design, or ignorance, really doesn’t matter. The damage was done.
And don’t forget hundreds of hours of prime time network programming.
On this subject, it’s all become fake and gay, so I’ll look up the MNF score. It’s not fake but is gay.

A comedy, for plausible deniability, featuring someone like the Big Bear, a Black Jewish Gay Trans guy who discovers his White slav and heritage. He’ll run into hilarious conflicts between his Race-mongering black-privilege and ultra-chic intersectional identities and reality. Like being raised to believe he’s a woman by dress, cosmetics, and the power of the Narrative, but when he comes out as gay and starts dating hot chicks.
