Biden’s Bad Year

“Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit amphetamines.” – Airplane

Jill caught Joe chewing on electrical wires, so she had to ground him.

Joe Biden is having his worst week in office.  In fact, so far his time in office has been an utter string of failure that makes the whole farce looks like it’s on purpose.  Let’s just look at the catalog of mess (not in order) that he’s created/made worse since last January.

I thought that Biden was in denial, but from the picture, looks like he was in the Suez.

  • In March, that cargo ship blocked the Suez Canal. Not Biden’s fault (probably) but I think Kamala might have been driving.
  • Increased inflation so it is now at multi-generation highs. Biden has successfully turned the economy into the number one fear of Americans.  I guess that’s one way to solve the COVID crisis.
  • International embarrassment about fleeing Afghanistan in the middle of the night. Certainly, we should have left, but we left like a fat man sneaking away from the dessert bar with a full plate.
  • Announced a mandate for workers at companies with over 100 employees to force-vax as a last-ditch effort to get support, only to have the Supreme Court deny it. This actually was to his benefit, except that it makes him look weak politically.  Or like an old man with dementia.
  • Actually got in place a requirement for health care workers paid by Uncle Sugar to be force-vaxxed. While it might seem like a political win, the fallout from the health care systems will be very dark indeed – expect emergency levels of personnel shortages coming soon.

How does a pirate set up his Bluetooth speaker?  Parrot with his phone.

As I’ve mentioned before, Biden has made himself as popular as morning-after-tequila breath.  People actually would rather have that volcano that just exploded near Tonga as president, since it would certainly do less damage to the country.  A tornado?  That would be a huge improvement on Biden – at least the tornado stops destroying after a while.

In previous years, I would have asked the question, how could it get worse?  But since I asked that question about 2020 “How could 2021 be worse?” I’ve learned to stop tempting fate since I don’t want a plague of Leftist vampires with electric cars to appear suddenly as the Sun goes nova.  So, I don’t want to push my luck.

With good measure.  Biden’s problem is that . . . he has nothing but problems.  I had a boss once who said, “Nothing succeeds like success.”  What he meant by that was that when things were going well, if you could keep them going you could end up in a virtuous circle.  Things just got better and better, and the momentum led from one victory to the next.

Little known fact:  you don’t need a parachute to skydive.  You need a parachute to skydive twice.

Success leads to success.  Does failure lead to failure?  Absolutely.  Joe Biden’s life is a patchwork of failure that somehow has led to him to the most epic failure of all politicians since Louis XVI said, “Nah, you can ignore them.  The peasants never do anything.”

But failing politicians are like failing businesses.  They’ll do almost anything to try to turn things around.  Businesses will borrow increasing amounts of money while promising increasingly ludicrous deals.  Politicians will . . . do exactly the same thing.  Except with a politician, they’ll toss in war as a bonus.

That’s just what Joe is doing.  Why would we want to increase the size of NATO by one Ukraine?  I have no idea.  But right now, I have no idea why NATO exists.  The Warsaw Pact and Stalin are both long gone, so who, exactly, are we worried about attacking Europe?

And why would we care about Ukraine enough to do, well, anything?  When Putin took the Crimean peninsula over, I was surprised – surprised he didn’t control it already.  But, again, why would we care?  I personally wouldn’t care if Guatemala took over Nicaragua, but that would be far more relevant to the United States than Ukraine is.  I see no role for the United States in any of these issues, but I’m not a politician looking to score popularity points like Joe.

I’m glad I wasn’t born in Ukraine.  I don’t speak a word of Ukrainian.

Additionally, though, Biden is playing the war card inside the United States, defining over 80,000,000 Americans as “terrorists” that the FBI just hasn’t organized terror plots for.  I do hear that the 2022 New Year’s Resolution of the FBI is to make their plot planning just a little less obvious.  The big advantage here is the government can time their schemes so they get all the Federal holidays off.

In one sense, Trump should be happy he isn’t in office:  the economy is was cooked for 2021 no matter what happened.  The aftermath of the COVID-19 shutdowns combined with the currency faucets spraying cash everywhere was bound to create an additional economic catastrophe.  That was baked into the cake already.

But Biden took that situation and made it worse.  The biggest mistakes were (and are) the Federal stimulus bills that have directly led to the inflation we’re seeing today.  You can only pour so much money into an economy until it shows up everywhere.

And it’s about to get spicy for Biden, the Federal Reserve® has signaled that they’re more than fine with abandoning Biden, too.  The only real cure for an inflating currency is to dry it up through higher interest rates.

If you had a dollar for every time you thought about me . . . you’d think about me more often.

The higher interest rates will (eventually, and if the rates are high enough) reduce inflation.  But the cost includes lowered prices on things people need to borrow money to buy, like houses.  So, while interest rates make borrowing more expensive, housing prices will drop, while rents stay high, and inflation remains.

Joe’s approval rate is 33% now.  What will it be when that perfect economic storm hits?

I bet that week will be even worse.

  1. Just a quick bit of congratulations. This blog is very much what I had intended to create in my now demised blog. My wife became embarrassed (she’s a conservative snowflake, a bit of an oxymoron 🥴) so she made me shut it down because I lacked enough wit, with my near daily takedown of politicians and corporations. So again, this blog is highly entertaining and I check it every day.

    1. …your wife made you take down your blog? I think I’d like more details please

      1. She worries that Big Brother is going to come after me in myriad ways and she’ll be an unfortunate victim, either physically and/or financially and it will be my sheer disregard for our (meaning her) welfare that I should continue burning bridges as I so enjoy being a born Southern male.

        1. This seems to augur poorly for the future…lot of turbulence coming up in coming years…

    2. Thank you! More to come. My initial blog was more of a family thing – but when school hits, I was out of topics. But now . . . I have the whole world! I’m very glad you enjoy!

  2. There was a lot of conspiracy theorizing about that cargo ship in the Suez canal. I did an in-depth analysis, both technical and esoteric. I scrutinized areas of ship operations and scheduling that few outside of the industry have done. I delved into the deeper meanings and symbolisms of the event, in particular how the name of the ship corresponds to the failing Chinese real estate corp “Evergrande.” After many months of fanatic research, with my health wasting away due to the horrors uncovered in dank libraries and moldering crypts, I finally found the key to unraveling the mystery. I looked at a picture of the incident from the air, and it all became clear.

Obviously it was just a female captain trying to parallel park. Nothing more. I can hear the exec officer muttering under his breath, “WTF, you have to turn the wheel when you shift between forward and reverse, you can’t just hit the gas as you only go back and forth in the same spot.”

I’ve come up with 2 reasons why Biden was selected, 1 of which was that they needed a patsy for something horrible even for Leftists. Like nuking Moscow, or nerve gassing Montana. I’m starting to think it might be a lot simpler, but potentially as bad: nuking the economy. Kind of like how the Baron Harkonnen wanted his nephew Raban to brutalize Dune so that his other nephew Feyd could come in and save Dune from him, becoming the hero.

Machiavelli wrote of a similar incident in history, where a city was near revolt, so the prince sent in the most brutal general he knew with orders to crush the agitators by any means. Eventually the prince came to the city, pretended to be shocked at all the brutality, executed the general in the town square, and the people loved him. In part because all those that hated him before had been tortured to death by the general.

“But since I asked that question about 2020 “How could 2021 be worse?” I’ve learned to stop tempting fate since I don’t want a plague of Leftist vampires with electric cars to appear suddenly as the Sun goes nova.”

I don’t know why so many people are such Debby Downers. Today is going to be the best day of the rest of our lives. Everything is going to keep getting a little bit worse, every day, so appreciate today for the miracle it is! Years from now, when you are sheltering under a bridge eating rotten possum and looking out on a burned city you’ll think, “wow, I wish it was 2022! That was such a good year. And 2021? OMG, I wouldn’t even wish for a year that was so good, I’d just be spoiling myself.”

I think we are trying to expand NATO because the Left believes that through such institutions is how you come to global government by the back door. Kind of like how the Euro Coal & Steel Community morphed into the EU.

The reason the Ukraine is important has to do with gas pipelines. It’s connected with the whole “Nordstream 2 is evil and must be stopped!” thing. Basically, Biden Inc makes a lot of money if euro gas goes thru the Ukraine rather than the Baltic. Much of the world’s conflicts in the past couple decades are due largely to pipe line politics, including Syria, Afghanistan, Kazakstan, etc. Pepe Escobar has a lot of great articles on this. google “pepe escobar, pipe lines” and a bunch will come up.

A cynic might also think that they are trying to gin up a war to justify a domestic crackdown.

    1. Hey, every day is awesome. I’d still skip 2020 and 2021. Pepe Escobar has quite a few very interesting stories . . . he’s a good suggestion.

Keep in mind, Russia is trying to plug historical strategic holes. Ukraine is one.

      Great comment!!!

      1. “Russia is trying to plug historical strategic holes.”

Of all the anti-Russia conspiracy theories, that is the least likely. Why would Putin want to bang Kamala Harris when he has several hot eurasian mistresses?

  3. Biden’s biggest mess of all is arguably losing control of the border and secretly shipping kids all around the country after their bedtimes.

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10368315/Pennsylvania-Gov-candidate-Lou-Barletta-shares-photos-secret-flights-migrants.html

40% of whom refuse an offered COVID vax shot, because unlike mandated American citizen health care workers like Aesop, they have the freedom to refuse.

    https://www.natlawreview.com/article/immigration-weekly-round-chamber-commerce-pushes-immigration-reform-covid-19-spikes

Oh wait, that’s right, that’s all Kamala’s mess.

    https://i.dailymail.co.uk/1s/2022/01/14/02/51938679-10368315-CBP_data_released_this_month_shows_there_were_173_620_encounters-a-15_1642128252851.jpg

It seems silly to have to say this, but if you don’t control who and what crosses your borders, you don’t actually have a country…

    1. Yup. They want immigration reform – which means more people who will inhabit the lower rungs. Have they noticed the tent cities?

  4. “The higher intertest rates will…”

John, did my 1st CRE purchase in early 1979. Note went from $800/mo to $1700 by late ’81. About broke me but muddled through. Petitioned my lender’s Regional VP to adjust the terms, no way.

Got revenge in ’83. We bought a neighboring biz that did $2.5MM with his institution, plus a $250K working cap line. He assured me that he’d adjust my note immediately. This time it’s me saying “No Way”.

I can only imagine the CRE carnage this time around. I had to put 20% down, that dawg don’t hunt anymore.

  5. Barry Soetoro is loving it as the old white guy faceplants.
The celebrations by the people’s champagne fountain are uproarious.
It couldn’t happen to a nicer infantile demoralized society of COV-LARP cultists in the blue hiveborg states and abominations known as cityscapes, sadly Traditional Americans are caught up in the Terminal Madness as well
A national divorce won’t ever be allowed because the dependent parasites need the productive to keep the gravy train rolling.
Use this time of controlled demolition collapse to your advantage and always be ready for fierce reckless battle at any time.

  6. John, the thing I find most telling is that those whom I know voted for the Current Occupant do not mention The Current Occupant in the least. Where in previous times a slight stumble by The Former Occupant would have caused hours of discussion and the wringing of hands, it is as if current event do not exist. These events do, of course, and that is the awkward part of the story: Inflation is the gift that keeps on giving and, combined with Supply Chain disruptions helped along by the “We are open – nope – wait, now! – nope, just kidding!” and a completely ineffective solution to the issue, are confronting people in the actual place it matters – the pocket book – every day.

The only thing about all of this that mildly amuses is the fact that in the midst of what will go down as possibly one of the worst, if not the worst US Presidency, millions of people will have to own that they got precisely what they voted for. The chickens have indeed come home to roost and the time for starting to shovel manure is at hand.

    1. People will never own up to their mistakes. By the very nature of Leftists, they cannot discern if they have made a mistake. If they could, they wouldn’t be Leftists past the age of their 1st job. The excuse will likely be the usual, that everything is Trump’s fault and if not for Biden’s brilliance things would be much worse. This is the standard Leftist trajectory for problem solving/ causing:

Identify problem, claim Leftism will fix it.
When problem gets worse, claim it would have been far worse w/o Leftism.
Demand more Leftism to fix the problems exacerbated by Leftism.
Repeat until total Leftism is reached at which point Utopia will spontaneously happen.

  7. Bidens first year reminds me of that Christmas family guy episode where Brian and Stewie have to be Santa. Delivering presents, they wake the father, kill him, put him in the closet and have to tie the entire family up when they discover him. Brian, cleaning up the blood, then suggests just going ahead with the remainder of the deliveries and Stewie is incredulous – this is ONE house, we’ve been here THREE HOURS.

It’s one year…not even…three more years of this? Fuggedaboudit

    1. Three more years?
      Highly unlikely.

The two biggest panic-attack-inducing fears of the DNC, in order:

      1) Biden lives to run for re-election.
      2) He doesn’t.

      1. I thought they should have gone buttegieg. Like no one will believe biden, three time failed candidate, is gonna get 13 million more votes than Obama. At least Pete was new and they could pretend some massive groundswell of support. He was charismatic enough to the progs and I’m confident their minority clients would vote for who they are told to – and if not, who cares when you’re putting up absurdities like 81 million votes.

I’m also a bit surprised Kamala is as unpopular as she is…being an idiot shouldn’t suffice as an explanation. But she is, so what the hell are they going to do here? Surely false flag white nationalist assassination is the smart play? Dial the domestic terrorism nonsense up to 12 etc etc, rally the rather disaffected base…33% within a year is incredible, we’re headed to French territory here (remember Hollande going out the door was at like 8%? Lol)

        1. From my read of the situation:
The issue is that Leftism isn’t a monolith, there are many sub-factions. We are getting to the End Game, where it’s possible that whichever faction controls the presidency might wipe out the other factions. They are worried who gets to be Stalin, and who ends up getting the Trotsky treatment.

This is my 2nd theory for why Biden was selected: it’s kind of like a papal election a few decades ago (70s?) where they were deadlocked, and neither faction would ever allow the other guy to win, but they couldn’t leave the room until someone was chosen. So they punted by picking the oldest and sickest cardinal, knowing that would give them a few years (or months, depending on how bad the next flu season was) to politick to decide who the next pope would be.

The best theory I’ve heard for why Kamala is that she represents a faction that demanded some kind of concession. Or that she is so hated that she is a safe bet for never being able to threaten anyone with actually winning an election, even if Biden goes to that great diaper changing station in the sky.

          1. Yeah apparently she’s massively in bed with big tech…write your own Willie Brown joke

  8. Keep in mind, the people who are telling us Slo’s approval rating is 33% also told us he got 83 million votes. The real numbers are much, much lower.

  9. Yeah, I noticed the ‘not talking about it’ thing too. Even my in-laws, Masshole Kennedy worshipers and Trump haters, are silent on Bidn. Nary a word at Thanksgiving. Eerie.
