Regarding the lack of ethnic diversity in the northern parts of middle America… those places were settled by people from northern Europe, who had a culture of surviving long, cold winters. It’s not an easy place to live, and neither was northern Europe. I doubt that newcomers will thrive there, despite the assistance of their neighbors, especially as this era of cheap energy winds down.
Well, they’ll thrive based on the neverending stream of government checks . . . Somalians in Minnesota?
